Please join Minnesota literacy leaders and teacher educators in the 5th annual Statewide Professional Book Club this summer as we read and discuss the works of
Dr. Barbara Foorman!
Barbara Foorman is the Frances Eppes Professor of Education, Director Emeritus of the Florida Center for Reading Research, and Director of the Regional Educational Laboratory Southeast at Florida State University. Dr. Foorman is an internationally known expert in reading. She has over 150 publications and was co-editor of the Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness. Her research has included studies of Pre-K-12 reading assessments and interventions, and literacy development in Spanish-speaking students. Regional Book Club participation and materials are FREE and meet twice during the summer months. Participants then have the option to join colleagues from across Minnesota at the Distinguished Scholars Symposium. This anticipated event is an opportunity to learn from author and researcher Dr. Barbara Foorman at the Minnesota Department of Education on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Participants are welcome to attend the book club or symposium or BOTH!
Minnesota Regional Book Club Facilitators are being identified and are inviting their higher education colleagues, PreK-12 teachers, administrators, and literacy leaders within their specific geographical area to be part of the summer study of Dr. Barbara Foorman’s work on Pre-K-12 reading assessments and interventions.

You must provide your own computer and internet. You will have private access for a limited time. You will not be able to participate in the discussion groups. You will be emailed the private code and connection for live streaming right before the session begins.
